News of the departure of all of the partners from Coudert Brothers’ London base last week prompted one former partner to reminisce on how conservative he remembers many of the US firm’s senior lawyers to be.
According to our mole, one discussion between two partners in New York a couple of years ago about dropping ‘Brothers’ from the firm’s name ended with one of them saying: “I love that name. We have had it for 150 years.”
