Sidley Austin Brown & Wood has hired former Herbert Smith competition heavyweight Stephen Kinsella to launch an antitrust practice in Brussels. Kinsella, who quit the top 10 London firm at the end of March, joins Sidley this month as head of its European Union competition practice. As first reported in Legal Week last month, Sidley had been hotly pursuing Kinsella since March to launch a competition practice from its Brussels office, which the US firm launched in 2003.
