Litigation ‘crash courses’ for trainee lawyers have yet to win over the profession, according to new research, despite the majority of commercial lawyers believing that their top trainees opt for corporate over contentious practices.

The latest Legal Week/ EJ Legal Big Question survey of 100 commercial lawyers found 81% did not support the use of condensed litigation courses in place of the traditional six month ‘seat’ for trainee lawyers, against 19% who supported such tactics.
