The recent landmark House of Lords ruling on privilege has handed in-house lawyers a valuable opportunity to reshape the way their companies treat internal communications, according to a top UK in-house lawyer.

Speaking during a session on privilege at Legal Week’s Global Legal Forum, Jeremy Ogden, deputy group general counsel at Barclays, welcomed last November’s Three Rivers judgment in which the Lords re-affirmed that confidential legal communications on presentational advice before a tribunal were protected by legal privilege.
