Confidence hit as 3i quits Birmingham and Reading

Law firms in Birmingham and Reading were dealt a blow last week following news that mid-market venture capitalist 3i is closing its offices in the cities.

The private equity house’s 12-strong central Birmingham office will shut down in June with half the team decamping to its London base and six staff members facing redundancy.
