It is time for the City of London Law Society (CLLS) to step out from the shadow of the Law Society.
City lawyers have been disengaged from the Law Society for as long as anybody can remember, but while the Law Society had combined representative and regulatory functions, a declaration of independence by the CLLS was impractical.
