The sun shone brightly and the views were magnificent from the boardroom of Lester Aldridge’s head office, but the 18 IT directors had not come to Bournemouth to enjoy the seascape. This meeting marked the first anniversary of the Southern Legal IT Directors’ Forum, a regional networking group conceived and run by Lester Aldridge’s director of IT and communications, Neil Prevett.
The forum has gone from strength to strength following Prevett’s original mailshot. The 24 member firms represent more than 4,000 endusers, with the aim of simply sharing ideas and working through solutions to common problems. In the words of one member, it is “not likely to result in too much confrontation with suppliers”. Members come from as far away as Bristol, Crawley and Brighton and each in turn provides a venue for the quarterly meetings.
