Herbert Smith has advised Insight Foundation Property Trust on a refinancing of its real estate portfolio through a securitisation issue of £300m of notes. Securitisation partner Jane Borrows and banking partner Simon Chadney led the Herbert Smith team. Clifford Chance banking partner Peter Voisey and banking partner Suzy Stewart acted for arrangers NM Rothschild and Merrill Lynch.
Herbert Smith advised The Tata Power Company, India’s largest private power company, on the raising of $200m (£106m) through a five-year foreign currency convertible bond issue. Corporate partner Martina Asmar led the team for Herbert Smith, while Linklaters‘ Hong Kong-based corporate partner Jeremy Webb represented underwriter JP Morgan.
