Final figures obtained from the Bar Council reveal the number of pupillages available to would-be barristers has plummeted from 853 in 2000-01, to just 572 in 2003-04.
This figure is marginally worse than the Bar Council’s projected figure of 600, as reported by Legal Week in October 2004.
