A commanding majority of senior business lawyers are opposed to controversial Law Society plans to radically reform the training system, despite many lawyers conceding that firms often allow sub-standard trainees to qualify.

The latest Legal Week/ EJ Legal Big Question poll of more than 100 senior lawyers reveals that 77% do not support the proposal put forward by Chancery Lane’s Training Framework Review Group (TFRG) to abolish mandatory vocational training for would-be solicitors.
