Ashurst is advising a 3i-backed consortium on the $242m (£126m) acquisition of the international business of US cable group Crown Media, securing the London firm a high profile deal in the increasingly active media buy-out sector.
Ashurst fielded a corporate team under partners Stephen Lloyd and David Carter acting for a consortium comprising 3i, US financier Providence Equity Partners and UK television executive David Elstein. Additional advice was provided by IP/IT partner Mark Lubbock while New York’s Dewey Ballantine handled US aspects.
