Adobe has released a welcome update to its Acrobat product family: Acrobat 7.0 Standard, Professional and Acrobat Reader 7.0. In what would seem to be a strategic move, Adobe has provided review and mark-up functionality throughout the range, even extending this to Acrobat Reader 7.0. This is perhaps one of the boldest changes for Adobe and is likely to affect not only how its PDF document format is used, but also the number of people involved in the document production or review process.

Acrobat Professional can now create PDFs that give users of the free reader software access to all of the commenting and review tools that were previously only available in the professional and standard product.
