Davis Polk & Wardwell and Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft have won the lead roles on Proctor & Gamble’s (P&G) $57bn (£30.2bn) acquisition of Gillette as the US M&A market kicks off the New year with a bang.

New York leader Davis Polk is advising Gillette with Cadwalader representing P&G. The two consumer product companies between them own major brands like Duracell, Oral-B and the Mach3 and Venus shaving ranges.
