Drake Tempest, the former general counsel of Qwest Communications, has won a six-month battle to prevent the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) from forcing him to testify against his old company.
The US market regulator earlier this month dropped its subpoena seeking to force Tempest, now a partner at O’Melveny & Myers, to answer questions in its investigation into alleged securities fraud at the telecommunications company.
