The Department of Constitutional Affairs has appointed John Angel as chairman of the Information Tribunal.
The tribunal’s remit is to hear appeals against notices issued by the Information Commissioner under the Data Protection Act 1998 – the European Community’s directive on privacy and electronic communications – and the Freedom of Information Act 2000, which came into force on 1 January.
