Gianni Origoni Grippo & Partners, Chiomenti and Davis Polk & Ward-well have scored lead roles on Telecom Italia’s €20bn (£13.8bn) acquisition of Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM), landing one of the largest European mergers of the year.
The deal, which brings together Italy’s largest fixed line and mobile phone companies, sees Telecom Italia buy the 44% shares in TIM it does not already own, with the company putting up around €12bn (£8.3bn) in cash and the balance in shares.
