These are anxious times at best for many insurance lawyers – and worse for others. A succession of top insurers have severely cropped their panels, triggering redundancies at some of the firms that have lost out.

After AXA’s recent general panel review, the results of which were announced in September, Morgan Cole was forced to make two lawyers redundant. The firm is closing its Croydon branch, which is exclusively dedicated to insurance, next January when the lease runs out. The rest of the staff in that office are being transferred to London.
