Linklaters, Baker & McKenzie and Slaughter and May have secured lead roles on United Technology Corporation’s (UTC’s) unsolicited £1.35bn bid for FTSE 250 group Kidde – the second contentious deal to hit the City this month.

Linklaters is advising US giant UTC on the approach, which looks set to be valued at around £1.5bn, while Bakers and Slaughters are jointly advising UK-based fire alarm and securities group Kidde.
