Momentum is building behind the proposed mega-merger between DLA and Piper Rudnick as the US firm’s senior partners begin touring DLA’s offices in the wake of this week’s merger deal between Piper and California’s Gray Cary Ware & Freidenrich.

The drive, initiated last week, saw Piper’s co-chairmen, Francis Burch and Lee Miller, travel to Europe to start a tour of DLA offices in order to meet the partner-ship and explain the rationale behind Piper’s tie-up with the 400-lawyer Gray Cary. The vote, first revealed on legal-week.com, was backed by partners at both firms on Monday (18 October).
