Skadden Arps Slate Meagher & Flom has reclaimed the top spot in the US M&A tables as advisers continue to milk the reviving American deal market.

Skadden took pole position, advising on 91 announced deals worth $186.3bn (£103.6bn), a 133% increase on 2003. Deals included Cendant Corporation’s $1.3bn (£723.2m) acquisition of Orbitz, Caesars Entertainment $9.44bn (£5.25bn) sale to Harrah’s Entertainment and members of the Sony-led consortium in its $4.8bn (£2.67bn) acquisition of MGM.
