Maitland and 9 Old Square are not the only sets to have secured a merger in the summer months. Leading IP set Hogarth Chambers has just announced that it is to merge with a smaller set, 19 Old Buildings, effective on 1 October, 2004.

The merger talks were spearheaded by Alastair Wilson QC, of 19 Old Buildings, who approached Hogarth heads Christopher Morcom QC and Kevin Garnett QC with a merger proposal, after Wilson’s set lost two of its six members.
