Orrick raids ailing Tokyo leader

Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has becomes the latest foreign firm to raid Japan’s Mitsui Yasuda Wani & Maeda, with the US firm snapping up a five-lawyer corporate team to bolster its Tokyo arm.

The San Francisco-based firm has hired Mitsui partner Masami Totani, together with four associates, to join the firm’s joint venture practice, Orrick Tokyo Law Offices.
