Full marks to the Law Society for leaving no stone unturned in its efforts to promote ethnic diversity within the profession.

Alerted to the paucity of gypsies on the solicitors’ roll, Chancery Lane has pledged to raise awareness about the benefits of becoming a lawyer to this community – a difficult task indeed given the fact that so few gypsies take up higher education. Undaunted by this obstacle, the Law Society is endeavouring to distribute career information to gypsies and other travellers via more inventive means – such as travellers’ education services.
