City giant deliberates fate of West Coast branch as it gets tough with US practices

In a dramatic strategy U-turn UK giant Clifford Chance (CC) has pulled the plug on its San Francisco and Los Angeles offices.
The decision sees the two offices, which house 11 partners and 27 lawyers, wound down this month – with eight of the 11 partners moving to Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe.
