Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has been forced to step aside from its high profile role advising Philip Green on his bid for Marks & Spencer (M&S) after an appeal court today (3 June) upheld an injunction barring the firm from the £9bn bid.
The ruling, made in the Court of Appeal, removes Freshfields from the lead role on the biggest UK M&A deal of recent years.
