Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and Addleshaw Goddard have combined to close Hewlett Packard’s (HP’s) $1.5bn (£848m) outsourcing deal with British Telecom (BT), one of the largest of such deals seen in the telecommunications sector.

The bulk of the work at BT was carried out by its own 130-strong legal team, headed by Anne Fletcher. According to a spokesman for BT, Addleshaws was drafted in to do the remaining 10% of the work for the company, checking the various documentation.
