OFT appoints legal head

The chief legal adviser to the Competition Commission has resigned to become the Office of Fair Trading’s (OFT) top lawyer as part of a shake-up of its legal team.

Brian McHenry is to take up the newly-created post of solicitor to the OFT in June following an internal review of the regulator’s legal function. The move follows the retirement of the OFT’s current legal director, Pat Edwards.
