The UK’s top law firms have committed to keeping newly-qualified salaries static for another year, with the majority of top 10 City firms opting to stay at the benchmark rate of £50,000.

Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, Slaughter and May, Linklaters, Herbert Smith and Lovells have all confirmed to Legal Week that they will keep starting salaries at £50,000, while Simmons & Simmons, Denton Wilde Sapte, Ashurst and CMS Cameron McKenna will stay at £48,000.
