Bingham McCutchen is continuing to reap the benefits of its pan-US expansion with profits per partner in 2003 breaking the $1m (£525,000) barrier and fee income surpassing $500m (£263m).

The firm, created from the merger in June 2002 of Boston’s Bingham Dana and San Francisco’s McCutchen Doyle Brown & Enersen, became the fifth US practice to break the $1m profits average in 2003, with partner profits hitting $1.06m (£555,000), up 15% on the previous year’s $920,000 (£484,000).
