Dating back in time to 1824, ABN Amro was the product of the merger in 1991 between Algemene Bank Nederland (ABN) and Amsterdam-Rotterdam Bank (Amro). Now a major international bank, ABN Amro currently has over 3,000 branches in more than 60 countries, a staff of over 100,000 and total assets of some e601bn (£403bn). Laurie Adams is the global head of legal and compliance for the wholesale clients division. He joined ABN Amro from Citibank in 2000.
