Weil Gotshal & Manges has seen profits per partner hit $1.5m (£792,560) with fee income breaching $800m (£422.7m) as the New York firm closes the profits gap with Manhattan’s legal elite.

Results released to Legal Week for the firm’s 2003 financial year show revenues up from 2002′s $683m (£360.8m) to hit $801m (£423.2m) – a 16.5% increase, placing Weil Gotshal as the eighth largest US firm by fee income.
