In-house departments will be out-sourcing less work to private practice in 2004 according to a client satisfaction survey by Legal Director. In the same survey in-house lawyers reported that law firms were falling significantly below their expectations in terms of service delivery, understanding business goals, quality of legal advice, billing practice and cost.

Heads of legal were asked to respond, anonymously, to a series of questions related to the types of services offered by private practice and their delivery.
