UK lawyers fear a continued exodus of IP work to foreign jurisdictions following a failed attempt by some of the UK’s biggest companies to amend an upcoming Parliamentary bill to make it easier to protect patents.
Senior lawyers have told Legal Week of fresh concerns that companies will seek to resolve IP disputes abroad after the failure of several large companies, drawn primarily from the pharmaceuticals sector, to amend the upcoming Patents Bill.
