Business is about making money: The question foremost in every business person’s mind is, how can we make more of it and how can we be more profitable than our competitors?

The answer is largely tied in to that business’s clients. But for all the hype that surrounds rainmaking and business development, lawyers have not traditionally been good at looking at the other side of the equation: people. As consumers, we expect the people we deal with to be efficient, motivated and involved in the organisations for which they work. If they are, we go back and we buy again. If they are not, we go elsewhere. These are the simple economics of choice.
