CMS Cameron McKenna corporate partner Sean Watson led the team to advise Enterprise Inns on its £609m acquisition of an 83.2% equity stake in the Unique Pub Company from a consortium of investors. Ashurst head of private equity Charlie Geffen advised the consortium, which was led by Cinven and included Legal & General Ventures, Enterprise Inns and Princes Gate. In March 2002, Ashurst advised the consortium on its £2bn acquisition of Nomura’s Unique and Voyage pub estates.

This deal sees Pendragon take advantage of the reduced restrictions to franchise ownership.
