The majority of leading partners believe that convicted child killer Louise Woodward should be allowed to practise as a solicitor – but they maintain that convicted murderers, rapists and fraudsters should be struck off for life, according to this week’s Legal Week/EJ Legal Big Question survey.
Woodward, who was convicted of the involuntary manslaughter of a child in her care while she was working as a nanny in Boston seven years ago, started as a trainee solicitor at a firm in Oldham this week after being given the green light by the Law Society last autumn.
