Breaking up or breaking out?
The impending enlargement of the European Union (EU) in May this year has prompted the EU’s smaller nations and their law firms to think about where they will fit into a 25-member union. With the EU expanding east, some Danish firms are looking to neighbouring Scandinavian countries and the Baltic to fulfil their strategies for growth. The big debate now is whether Denmark is too small for its big law firms, or whether the major players are just too big for Denmark.
