Legal IT’s third annual benchmarking survey of law firms’ IT strategy, in association with PA Consulting, has found that law firms are expecting a marked increase in clients’ demand for fixed-fee work in 2004.

Firms are also planning to increase their spending on IT, focusing on client relationship management (CRM) systems and online collaboration. But internal issues are still the major barriers and there is a concern that the barriers that have prevented firms from being successful with knowledge management (KM) will also effectively torpedo their efforts with CRM.
