A long-running dispute over whether in-house lawyers in the European Union (EU) should have legal privilege is to be resolved in the courts, following a key legal ruling in October.
The ruling, by the president of the European Court of Justice’s court of first instance, states that the current dispute between the European Commission (EC) and chemicals group Akzo Nobel should settle whether Brussels regulators can override in-house privilege.
