In recent years Ireland has developed an excellent reputation as a centre for securitisation and structured products. This has been further enhanced by tax changes introduced in March 2003, which have made it easier to structure a wider range of securitisation transactions and structured products. The Irish securitisation market has three distinct sectors:

(i)Irish originated securitisations;
(ii)Ireland as an investor and collateral manager jurisdiction; and
(iii)Ireland as an special purpose vehicle (SPV) jurisdiction.
