More than one-third of European in-house counsel (34%) expect to outsource more legal work in the next year, according to a survey conducted by LexisNexis Martindale Hubbell (MHI).
The survey of general counsel, 37% of whom were drawn from companies in the Global or European 500 with an average turnover of e30bn (£21.01bn), also identified two key trends affecting in-house legal departments – increased complexity of the work undertaken and changing expectations of executive management.
