Rosemary Kind’s article on suppliers in September’s issue of Legal IT amused and alarmed in equal measure. If her exasperation at the tactics employed by the majority of industry suppliers is a view widely held by IT directors, IT managers and HR professionals, then they seem to be suggesting that a revision of our practices needs to be addressed.

However, we feel compelled to rectify a certain disparity in the apportionment of blame and also to try to suggest ways to improve the relationship between suppliers and customers.
