The use of no win, no fee deals looks set to come under further pressure as one of the UK’s largest private litigation funding provider, Halifax Bank of Scotland (HBoS), this week announced it is cutting back its involvement in the market.

HBoS contacted solicitors earlier this month to say that the bank had decided to reduce its presence in the legal disbursement funding market, which loans solicitors money to pay for expenses generated during conditional fee arrangement (CFA) funded cases.
