Abbey National’s company secretary and head of legal Gwyn Malkin has retired, leaving in-house lawyer Karen Fortunato to take his place as general counsel at the Ftse 100 banking group.
Fortunato, previously a senior lawyer in the bank’s legal department, took over the role in September, taking charge of a 30-lawyer in-house team. Malkin is understood to have retired for health reasons.
