While much of Southern and Western Europe has spent the past decade fighting competition from the international law firms, the Scandinavian legal market has remained dominated by the region’s independent firms.

The top tier of these – Mannheimer Swartling and Vinge in Sweden, Bugge Arentz-Hansen & Rasmussen and Thommessen Krefting Greve Lund in Norway, Roschier Holmberg and Hannes Snellman in Finland and Kromann Reumart and Gorrissen Federspiel Kierkegaard in Denmark – have been able to take advantage of a relatively clear field to consolidate their leading position in the market.
