As the only Scandinavian respondent to the survey that said it would consider an overseas merger, Wikborg Rein’s view of the future is a little different to those of its immediate competitors in Norway’s top tier of law firms.
Much of the speculation in the Nordic region has been over who would be the first to create a fully merged pan-Nordic law firm, a debate re-ignited recently by the merger of OM and HEX, the companies operating the Swedish and Finnish stock exchanges, which have plans to create a single bourse for the Baltic region.
