Three-quarters of UK lawyers believe practice rules across the European Union (EU) should be harmonised, with the current patchwork of differing bar regimes dubbed as confusing and chaotic.
The finding is the key result of the latest Legal Week/EJ Legal Big Question survey, which found 74% of our panel of 100 leading business lawyers favour a harmonised cross-border regime in the EU.

Eighty-six percent of the panel also labelled the current regulatory regime for international business lawyers as either chaotic or somewhat confusing, with just 3% characterising the status quo as very well co-ordinated.
