Chicago merger bolsters top 100 firm

Chicago’s Seyfarth Shaw has finalised its takeover of local rival D’Ancona & Pflaum in a deal that hands the top 100 US firm an additional 60 lawyers in its home turf.

The merger, effective of 1 October, will see D’Ancona assume the Seyfarth Shaw brand and relocate its staff to the larger firm’s HQ, creating a 270-lawyer practice in Chicago.
