Nearly one in three leading partners say in-house counsel should not be protected by client privilege, according to a new survey that also questions the independence of employed advisers.
The Legal Week/EJ Legal Big Question survey of more than 100 lawyers found that 72% believed in-house lawyers’ advice should be covered by legal privilege – against 28% arguing that such rights should be reserved for external advisers.
