Hong Kong’s barristers are to lobby the Chinese Ministry of Justice in a last-ditch attempt to gain highly valued mainland practice rights.
The move follows June’s much vaunted Closer Economic Partnership Agreement between China and Hong Kong which proposes next year to allow Hong Kong lawyers to qualify as mainland lawyers and forge alliances with Chinese firms.
